Dresses, Hair Trials, and Vendors, oh my! (UPDATE WITH PICS!)
This has been a crazy 36 hours. Finding out about FI's health problem did made me feel down. I wish he could just tell me what is going on instead of making me worry. Then I missed the showcase for the band. I talked to them the night before stating I might make it because of my job interview and getting things together over there but they did left the door open to making it there. I didn't get home until 10:45 last night! (By the way, the interview went well).
Anyway today is a complete 180 from yesterday. I went to RK Bridal this morning for my try-on and the dress is more beautiful than I thought. I do have to alter the dress because it's way too big on top (you'll see in the pics) but I am going to wait a while to do the alterations. After all, I do need to lose the extra pounds.
Meanwhile, I was looking at veils and obviously the mantilla is the way to go. However, I was on the fence because my hair was on a ponytail and not down. Good thing I was heading to the hair salon nearby so I can ask for their opinion.
I walked a few blocks to Salon Belazza on 8th Avenue (near MSG/Penn Station) to get my hair color done. I was going to do highlites but changed my mind and went to one base color, which is light natural brown. The colorist have to use 3 colors to even everything out. My roots are dark brown/black, my golden blonde highlites are on the top half, and the base medium brown was on the bottom half. In the end, the color came out perfect, though slightly dark on the bottom part. Since I was talking about weddings at the salon, one of the stylist was nice enough to do an imprumtu trial on me. He saw the pics and thought I should go down. After giving him the Eva @ Emmys/wavy look idea, he did what he had to do and it turned out just right. Of course I have a year to go and my hair will grow during the time, but at least I know what I want.
From there, it was to Farmingdale to meet up with Jerether (the duo known as Jeri and Heather) for vendors hunting. Within 2 hours, I've booked everything. Okay not everything... I do need a couple more things and then I'm really done. I am so glad they helped me have a great time even with things that are going on. Too bad I wasn't a downer because Heather would have streaked in the streets of Farmingdale to cheer me up! LOL
So now I'm ready to get some sleep. My toe hurts (blame it on the slippers) but who cares. I got all my shizzle, my dress is great, and I love my hair. I will post my pics on the next post. If not, wait until the AM. I have plenty of piccies to show.
