Ok so I am upset about my dress, hating it with 67 days to go. I went down yesterday to try it on againa nd see how they were doing with the boning. so far, verdict is horrible. It is still wrinkling oddly in the middle because it has no boning to keep it flat. I want to cry. They never told me it was a dress with straps. The floor sample was strapless and when they showed me my dress, it did have straps butwhen asked, the girls said 'Oh they all come that way and we can take them off.' I didn't realize that without the straps, it sags.
I am so upset because ist so much like a MAggie Sottero I wanted that would have worked better due to the boning, but I couldn't find it anywhere so I ordered my dress thinking, pish same thing. Apparently its not.
It's too late to order anything else, even if I rushed ordered, so I have to stick this out. I cried myself to sleep last night which sounds stupid, but one of the only reasons I wanted a larger wedding when the elopement idea didn't work out, was so I could wear a real wedding dress and look like a beautiful bride. And now I just look wrinkly and its all off and I just needed to complain...

AW hun I'm so sorry you feel this way! Try the dress on again with an open mind, once with straps and then w/o. Talk to your seamstress ans see if they can add longer bones. Then if you are still unhappy, get over to davids and try on dresses. You can get them off the rack. Good Luck, I really hope your seamstress can do something about the wrinkling.

Re: Dresss depressed
hey i definately feel your pain, at the end of june with about 3 months to go, i HATED my dress so much i thought about it every minute of the day.. i went myself to a few places..and found at least 5 other dresses that i liked better, which is how i knew mine wasnt 'the one'..then i found it..the one i dreamed about..they rushed it in, from jasmine couture, and they told me i wouldnt have it till sept 5th, my wedding was sept 24 so i was VERY nervous..i ended up getting it in in JULY!! im telling you, there are a few places that if you are serious about not wanting to wear your dress, can help you out.. i got my dress from Alta Moda, which is a dress shop, and they make dresses there as well..im sure she can either make u something, or order from one of her authorized dealers (she doesnt belong to many, she joined jasmine to be able to get my dress) but they did everything for me and it was perfect..if you need any info, FM me!! good luck!!
by the way, i just looked at your pics..and you look BEAUTIFUL!! i hope maybe youre just nervous!! i thought id see some mess..lol..but seriously, yo ulook gorgeous! keep an open mind. but do what makes you happy!!

I completely agree. Your dress is gorgeous and looks great on you! Let them finish the boning and I'm sure it will look flatter. I have to say, until I saw this thread and you pointed it out, I didn't even notice it wasn't perfectly flat. I don't think it takes away from your dress at all.
You look gorgeous!

I think you look gorgeous in your dress...but if its bothering you, can y ou ask them to put straps on the dress? or do you really want strapless...plus dont forget they are still fixing your dress, wait until its done and im sure it will fit great. Did they say they will fix the problem?

You look fine in your dress ! Let them finish the boning and then see how it will fit better. Are the straps wide ? Can they be made narrower if you don't like them ?
Don't worry, it will all work out in the end. Honestly, it is a small detail that no one will notice. You look fine now !

If your streamstress cant fix the problem take it somewhere else..a good streamstress can work wonders. and they will add boning!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dresss depressed
They are trying to add boning but the issue is the lace is delicate and satin beneath is so thin that it shows through if they bone the entire bodice. They have to do it only on the sides and it keeps puckering. It does have spaghetti straps already but I feel they make my shoudlers look wider-it cuts me oddly.
The biggest issue is this place is SHADY! RK Bridal seamstresses. the cap was 350 but they are charging me 365 for something THEY should ahve told me BEFORE i bought the dress and 15 dollars additional for cups? Most bridal places don't frickin charge for alterations! I just regret using them so much because they heve done nothing but give me issues with this dress from day one. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and now I hate my dress and just stressed out. PMS does NOT help!
I am sure will work out-expect the worst and hope for the best right?

Re: Dresss depressed
I looked in your album and I have to say... I remember seeing you post that before and I LOVED it when you did.. and I still do. I think it looks wonderful on you. Its not skin tight.. and you can see where its a BIT loose, but by NO means does it look wrinkly or awful. I think it looks great!!!! I know its all about how you are feeling about it. But think.. on your wedding day.. when you have your hair done, your makeup and all your accesories.. you wont even notice that your dress is a bit loose. You are beautiful.
Good luck .. I truly hope this passes you see it looks good on you !

Re: Dresss depressed
If the one you tried on was strapless, can't they figure out how that one was done and work from that one?

Re: Dresss depressed
sorry to hear about your dress, the same thing happened to me when I ordered my dress. I tried it on and it didnt have straps but when it came in it did. so I just got the straps taken out when I went for my fitting.

Re: Dresss depressed
i am sure you will be a beautiful
what if you tried some different undergarments to help flatten it out?
ETA: I just looked at your album and I think it looks fabulous! (and i wish i could wear a dress like that!) and if you think it is too loose, some cannolis and cheesecake can fix that right up

I was thinking the same thing. Also, if you don't like the spaghetti's, what about a capped sleeve?
I think the dress looks great!

It wasnt strapless-they just cut off the straps, BUT the issue was the sample was a 12 and I am a 6 so they clipped it up and I figured the wrinkles were from the dress being too big. I don't like cap sleeves-make my upper arms look chunky. If absolute worse comes to worse, I will have to do the straps but I hope I won't have to.
