I just got home from two internship interviews. I was at the Glen Cove School District this morning and Oceanside this afternoon. Driving back to Queens was just terrible..I could see next to nothing on Merrick Rd., Sunrise Hwy and the Belt. I skidded a couple of times on my local streets. I am so glad to be home safe and sound.

it took me a half hour on a normal 6 min. trip here in shirley... could not see 2 feet in front of me! i ahte the snow!!!!! the roads are a sheet of ice!

I cannot believe this storm is turning out so awful
DH is probably going to stay on LI again tonight if it continues this way ... I hate the fact he won't be home, but I'd much rather him be safe than try to drive all the way from LI - Scarsdale

tell me about it I had to pull over 7 times to clean my wipers and I couldnt see at all- the worst conditions I have ever drove in. It took me 2 and half hours to get home today usually about 40 min.

That's a shame, but it's better if he stays. I can see the Cross Island from my apt., and it's a mess, as was the Cross Bronx on my way home. The side roads already seemed to be icing over when I got home at 3:30.
Jax, I'm glad you didn't have to go to Glen Cove too much later- 106/107 (or whatever that road is from the LIE) is a terrible road- my dad won't even go up that way when it's raining (my nana is in a nursing home in GC)

JAX, glad you are home safe. How did the interviews go?
The roads were terrible, especially the local roads. I skidded almost all the way through a stop sign and was sliding like crazy.

Its bad out there! I am still waiting for DH, dad, and my brother to get home and its already been over 2 hours I cant wait till they get here. Its moms birthday and I feel so bad about this crappy weather. Her attitude 'Well, I was born during a snow storm'..LOL Gotta love her. Plz be careful everyone!!!

My usual trip home is about 25 minutes. Today it took me one hour and 45 minutes!!! I am happy to be home safe and sound - it could have been worse.

If it is going to be 18 below tonight, then the roads will not be thawed out enough for me to drive. Aint no way I am taking the Jackie Robinson Parkway to work. I may as well ice up my hockey skates!!!

It took me two hours to get from Jericho to Long Beach - it got worse and worse as I drove further south. The local roads are the worst. Glad to be home! I get so worked up on trips home - my heart gets racing ! I need a cocktail to calm my nerves !!!!

I have to leave here (Huntington) at 10:30pm to pick my DH up at JFK. A lot of the car services weren't doing pick ups.
