Hello everyone - can you guys give me an idea of the drop-off rate from your guest list? I've heard everything from 10 - 40%, which seems crazy!! I just need to know how many people I should expect. If we are interested in a place with a MAXimum of 180 people, how many can we safely invite to have about 170 people? We don't want to overcrowd or have our guests feel uncomfortable. Any advice is welcome. Many thanks!

usually it is 20-25 percent

So, do you think I would be ok to invite about 210 to a venue that holds MAX 180? Sorry to dwell on this - its giving me major anxiety

ur wedding is on a saturday in may. i would assume that ull have a better than average attendance (as opposed to like a friday in august). also if you have a lot of out of town guests that might be a factor.
its always hard to predict. my hall has a minimum of 180. but i dont want more than 200 ppl. so im trying to invite just about 200-220.

It really all depends ifyou are going to have a lot of OOT and if you look at your guest list and no if you will have a lot of yes or no's

Yeah - I have a pretty clear idea of who is coming and not and I'm pretty sure I will have no more than 10% drop off. . so I would go down on your guest list and separate them into Definites, Maybes, and No's . then it should give you a better idea

Depends on a lot of factors...did you send STDs? Do you have a lot of people from out of town? Is it a holiday weekend? etc

I would never invite more that can fit in the room no matter what! You never know..i have plenty of friends that got hardly any no's.... its too much of a risk!
