Drove by my future house and didn't get excited....

Hadn't been back to see my house since inspection and drove by to see the 'under contract' sign. I wasn't excited......I love the house and can't wait to get in, but could it be b/c of NY's insane three month wait? It's almost like a buzzkill waiting three months after looking for so long.....

Did this happen to anyone else?

I drive by my soon-to-be house and I get so excited I drive by like twice a week, I hope they dont see me they may think I am a stalker It is only 1 mile from where we live now. But I do here what you are saying, we are not going to close until the end of July it seems sooooooooo far away

I can completely understand what you are saying!
I am the opposite though, I am generally unexcited about the whole thing until I am in the neighborhood of my new house!
Whenever we are withing like 5 miles of it I make FH drive past. I also make him drive aroudn the neighborhood and I get excited thinking about where I am going to go shopping, where are the local delivery places, etc.
But we were originally supposed to close on July 1 and then right before contract signing the date got moved to June 1 so now its seems almost like its too close with all we still have to do for the wedding and getting the mortgage!

We drive by ours like stalkers also. At least I'm not the only one. We get new ideas each time we see it. I even parked my car one day and took pictures of it from my car. Very stalker like. We have to wait 2-3 months also. Its driving me insane!!!!!!

We do drive by the house and the neighborhood, I like to look at the stores and see what is where, it is a new neighborhood for us, about 20 min. away, I love doing that and get excited however the thing that doesn't get me excited is seeing other houses that may be better in a certain way that were not for sale when we were looking. I think I should stop looking on the internet websites.

I never thought I would be checking peoples fences and landscaping to get ideas. I look at everyones house now for ideas.

We have to wait 2-3 months also. There is a whole long process in between placing a bid and closing.

The wait is horrible!!!
We started looking seriously in September/October, found our house in February, and our original closing date was July 1!!!!! Thank goodness it was moved up to June1...it just all takes too long!! theres is alot of waiting!!!
