DID ANYONE HEAR ABOUT THIS..........
Police confiscated more than 100 pounds of cocaine, $5 million in cash and an array of guns in a bust of what officials are calling the largest cocaine network in Suffolk history.
Authorities say the bust capped a three month investigation that spanned eight states. In total, officials say more than 450 pounds of cocaine with a street value of $40 million were confiscated. Police say members of the drug ring transported the cocaine from Mexico via California, using sophisticated compartments in audio speakers, foozeball tables and fish tanks.
Police have made eight arrests, three of whom were Long Islanders. The local arrests include a Suffolk County corrections officer and a former elementary school teacher and basketball coach at North Babylon High School.
