Not sure if any of you remember but I had posted a few weeks ago about an old co-worker who's teenage son tested positive for marijuana (the son doesn't realize that he was being drug tested)
I talked to the co-worker a couple of days ago, and he and his wife think that he tested positive from 2nd hand pot smoke...is that even possible??????

i think it may be possible. if it was recent and enough smoke to the point where the son was inhaling it for a long period of time, then I think it would be possible.
eta: how did they test him w/out him knowing?

a friend of mine went to a concert and was standing in front of a bunch of potsmokers and then was tested at work. he is a cop and they do it random and he tested positive for small traces of it.

my old co. used to do randoms...and i was always afraid to be around certain ppl who did smoke pot b/c someone told me it was possible to test positive from second hand smoke.

According to the drug test guy at my company - NO you can NOT test positive from second hand smoke. The only way it's possible is if you are shut in a small space for HOURS with smoke so thick you'd choke.
Drug tests aren't testing for 'trace' amounts - there needs to be a certain level of THC for a positive result. The more expensive tests that are used for police officers ARE more sensitive, but it's still unlikely to test positive from second -hand smoke.
I have a confession to make - YEARS ago, I had a few puffs off a one-hitter. I hadn't smoked the stuff in years prior to that. I got randomly popped in a test 8 days later and came up clean. If I didn't test dirty after SMOKING it after a few days, I highly doubt second hand smoke would have shown up.
It sounds like this kids parents are in denial....
