Does anyone suffer from this? I had LASIK surgery in '04 and for a few years had no problems. In the last year or so my eyes have become so sensitive, and are ALWAYS red. They burn all the time, especially if I look at the computer for too long. I have been doing research but was wondering how others are dealing w/it? Another big thing is I dont want my eyes to be dry & blood shot on my wedding day!
TIA

Re: Dry Eye Syndrome
I did LASIK two years ago. Sometimes my eyes feel dry, I use lubricant eye drops to help relieve it. Sometimes when I read I feel like I'm seeing double and that usually means my eyes are too dry. I believe we have to use that eye drop often, but I always forget.

Re: Dry Eye Syndrome
I had lasik too and also suffered from the exact same thing. I just had it done in July and it has been better for the most part. I also use the lubricating drops in the little one use containers, but I know there are a few things the eye doctor can do. He had mentioned possibly having me use restasis, but I ended up not needing it. There is also a teacher I work with that had a really simple procedure done that allows her eyes to produce more tears. I would visit the eye doctor and find out your options. HTH

Re: Dry Eye Syndrome
I've never had LASIK but I do have dry eye. I use a lubricating gel at night - it's called Genteal. Works great

Re: Dry Eye Syndrome
I have dry eyes/ eye allergies as well. I never had lasik though. I've been using thera tears and refresh preservative free single use drops ( preservatives can be very irrtating to the eye so I avoid them). They have been better lately. Thankfully, the dryness doesn't make my eyes too red, they just burn and feel uncomfortable. If your eyes don't respond to over the counter measures, there is prescription restatsis and punctal plugs among other treatments. This website might help you: http://www.dryeyezone.com/ HTH

Re: Dry Eye Syndrome
I beleive only drops can help with the dry eye... dry eye is a common side effect...my sis had prk(like lasik) 2 years ago and she still has dry eyes! but ashe doesnt have to wear EG so i guess its worth it!!

Re: Dry Eye Syndrome
I suffer from dry eye for like the last 4 years. I am supposed to use Systane everyday, but I get lazy. Systane works really great....if you have dry eye it is really important to lubricate you eyes frequently. About 2 years ago, I actually tore my cornea by rubbing my eye in my sleep, that is how dry my eyes get. It was one of the most painful things I have ever experienced and it took like a month for it to heal.
