For any of you girls that are using or who have used Duet ......was the language barrier a problem? My daughter had an appt with them and loves their work but was uneasy with the lack of communication. She is afraid that it will be hard to take direction on the wedding day and that the lack of a relationship with the photographer may show in their faces. Any advice????

Re: Duet
I was also a bit concerned about this, but I did not have any issues with understanding my photographer, Jay, at all. From what I have read on here, it seems that the people that work in the studio are harder to understand, not the photographers.

Re: Duet
I met with them last week. My sister used them a few years ago for her wedding, and after our meeting I said, 'I'd be worried I wouldn't be able to understand them,' because I really couldn't understand a lot of what the person I met with said. However, my sister said that it was not a problem on her wedding day. I'm close to booking them!

Re: Duet
We were concerned about this as well. We used Alberto and when we first met him to do our engagement pics we hit it off and he was perfectly fine to understand and the wedding day went well too! We didn't have any issues!

I am using duet and my best friend used them too. They are wonderful. Yes, sometimes you have to ask them to repeat something because of their accents but they are fully able to communicate. Actually, at my friends wedding I was very impressed with how well her photographer was able to communicate. He knew every bridesmaids name within the first hour of the day. He was wonderful! And her pics came out amazing. Good Luck!

Same here. I had Jay for my e-pics and there weren't any communication barriers.

FH and I met with Duet and we could not understand them during the meeting. We left loving their work but were clueless on what package included what exactly. Plus we werent happy with their video quality.
We're going with 12th Night (Dominick) and their videographer who is amazing.
I've heard good things about Thomas Paul

Totally agree. When we met with them at the studio, I was having a difficult time - though DH apparently understood every word he said. But our photographers the day of were much better - VERY easy to talk to, and did a fantastic job!

Yes we saw Thomas Paul also and loved him too. it will probably come down to the two choices.
