Hey ladies, I set up an appointment with Duet this weekend and I'm going w/o FH b/c he's going to be working this weekend. I really dont want to hold off until the end of busy season b/c when I called them this weekend, the lady accidently heard me incorrectly (the date of our wedding) and told me they had no photographers left that day! and that was for June 2011!
Anyways, if anybody can give me any advice on what to ask and how to bargain with them, that would be great! also, how much did everybody get quoted for video/photgrapher combo?
TIA!

Re: Duet advice?
I would first go to DuetWedding.com and go to 'Book Now'... you'll be able to build a package on there for exactly what you need and it will give you an idea of how much it's going to cost. You can also see which photogs are available for your date.
I didn't really bargain. I had book with them online to take advantage of the 10% discount they were offering online only, but I did call before booking and had them walk me through everything to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Maybe when you meet with them, you can see if they can discount a little and if they don't you can always just go home and do the booking online to save the 10%.
Also something to keep in mind is you won't be able to sit down and meet with your actual photographer when you go there. That's one of the reasons I didn't bother going into the studio to book. I knew i wanted either Jay or TJ based on their work and Jay was available for our date so we booked with him. I would say if you are definitely doing video and if you are getting albums, it's better to go in the studio because then they can show you everything firsthand (we are also not doing albums).
We did not get video, but we're paying around $2700 and we got everything we wanted and stayed under our budget for Photography.
Good Luck!
