Duet Brides

I recently read on another post that some girls are adding an extra hour to their package and now I'm thinking if I should do the same. Do the photographers normally stay for the whole reception? My package is for 10 hours and my ceremony starts at 3pm so I figure Duet would show up at my house around 1pm. My reception ends at midnight. This is a total of 11 hours. Should I add the extra hour?

That was me that just met with Eric to add an hour to our package.

The thing with us is that my ceremony is at 4pm, but the reception is 8:30pm to 1:30pm. So originally our photographers and video were for a total of 10 hours - from 3:30pm to 1:30am. BUT, I really wanted to have some getting ready pictures at my house and I wouldn't have had enough time if they started at 3:30pm. So, FH and I discussed it and decided it was worth it to add the cost - you never get to relive this day and for me, I wanted the getting ready pics (my dress hanging particularly and other things).

For you, if your reception ends at 12:00 midnight, they'd normally start at 2pm. Are you taking pics beforehand? How far is the ceremony location from where you're getting ready? If you're just a few minutes away, then 2pm might be a-ok. But if you're 30-40 minutes away and want some pics before (either getting ready or just with your BM's or parents), then you *might* need some more time.

I've always heard that Duet photogs arrive early, but you shouldn't count on that.

the ceremony is about 20 minutes away and I definitely would like getting ready pictures taken at my house.

Hmm, so if the ceremony is 20 minutes away, you should leave a half hour before. So you leave your house at 2:30pm. They arrive at 2pm. You would only get a half hour of pics. You COULD wait until 2pm to put on your dress and get those last minute pics. But if you want more, like makeup and everything else, maybe adding an hour would be good. I mean, it's not like $50, so think about it before you decide.

For us, I would have only had 15 minutes at most of pics at my house, and that was definitely not enough. I would have had to be dressed already so they would just have gotten pics of us leaving - no getting ready shots.
