I have been doing some research on these boards and can't figure out which one is the better choice. I haven't begun to look in person but I'm just curious to what everyone thinks. Thanks Teresa

Duet... I have heard some good and bad things about ADA, but only good things have been said about Duet.

Didn't check out ADA, so I'm probably not much help - but I checked out and booked Duet because the positive comments I saw here were reinforced by their work when I went to see them. Good luck!

You should really go see both. Everyone likes different things, especially with photography. You need to get a feel for the studio and the person who will be doing your wedding.

I am working with ADA & Big John is my photographer!!! I booked him on the spot...My FBIL used them in 2003 & they were very pleased with his work...He is a fun loving, down to earth guy...
I suggest you go to see both though & make your decision based on your feelings

I am thinking ADA is more traditional photography and Duet is more artistic....

please just chek BBB.org before using any photographer!! I was going to look into ADA but not after I went to BBB. I never checked out Duet but I have only heard great things about them. I just happen to be using Patken.

that's why i ask, only because i have heard some negative comments on ada, and i have heard people mentioning them being on the BBB.

I agree. I heard the same thing about ADA.
I checked out Duet but was worried about the language barrier. I heard you really need to follow up on things with them because they don't give good instructions and they are so busy they are late with some deadlines. But these are all things I heard from other LIW brides.
Check them both out and do a search on here for reviews.

It is always good to check out BBB but remember not all companies get listed on BBB...There could be complaints out there about other vendors but people do not choose to report them...I have always been a firm believer that every company out there has unsatisfied customers...You have to trust your gut instinct...
As a paying customer of ADA, I have heard the bad comments & did a lot of investigating prior to booking...A lot of the complaints have to do w/the specific photographer used...In my case, I picked Big John bc I have seen his work in person & have been there while he was working...So I know that I am getting good quality...Feel free to FM if you want details about what I have found

I love duet- went to see ADA and heard good things about them from an old coworker at the watermill- BUT I have heard too many negative things about them and I like the personalities of people i met but I DID NOT like their work... see them both- it is all personal preference

I didn't meet with ADA, but I did meet with Duet and they seemed to be very accommodating. Their packages weren't astronomical either. Good luck!

I personally LOVE Duets work and so far they have been great to work with but of course I am biased. As for ADA I have never met with them but if you like their style of work I would def. say to make an appt with both and determine whose work you like better and who you would prefer working with! Good luck

I booked with Big John from ADA as well, I only heard good things about him from other brides that had used him.

I personally am biased I guess. I booked Duet after hours of reading old posts and could not find a single person who had anything bad to say about Duet. I saw some girls posted about the language thing but I NEVER once anticipated that as an issue. Besides, Eric from Duet does not take the photos. They are wonderful!!! I was moved by the pictures and the video. I went with them for both pics and video. I think a person's work says it all. Fh and I are camera shy and felt Duet offered more candid Photojournalistic pics so hands down Duet won over the others. Good Luck with your decision.

I am a Duet Bride, my Fi and I checked out like 7 photographers before we made our decision. Duet had great quality and their prices were good.
