I found out yesterday that the proofs will be ready 5-6 weeks from now. At that time I can pick out the picture for the Thank you cards and then it takes about 20 days to receive them. Is it me or is that way too long to wait? I don't want our guest to think we forgot about them or were just plain lazy in not sending out the cards earlier.
P.S. I am so anxious to see some pictures. I can't post my review until I get them.

We're just writing thank yous with stationary that matches our invitations. We didn't want to wait for pictures, either. You can always do that, and then just send pictures to people when you get them later.

i think people will understand...it stinks that you have to wait that long, but most of the recent weddings that i attended, we got our thank yous around the 6 month mark... if you dont want to send them out that late you can also just write out the thank yous then insert the photo later... or choose a nonprofessional picture to do on your thankyous

Thanks ladies. I think thats what we'll have to do. I just remember reading a post where someone was upset that they got a thank you card months after a wedding. Thanks again

I don't think that's too long at all, especially for a picture thank you! I am in the middle (quite literally) of writing out my thank you cards... tomorrow is my 6 month mark.

i mailed mine out thursday. It took me 5 months but I only actually got the cards last week. Don't worry, people don't really expect them soon. Good luck.

I still haven't done our thank-yous although I'm starting to get really edgy about it..hopefully they will be done in the next month or so
anyone who knows about weddings should realize it can take a long time to get your proofs

I got married two days before you- I bet I will take that long too- MANY brides that weekend..that stinks ... BUT think how beautiful they will be : O)

I dont' think that's long at all. We had our proofs w/in two weeks, but we're sending out the thank you cards next week!

i was thinking of taking the thank you cards and writing them out before the pics came. then when they came i will stick the pic in and send them out, instead of waiting for them before i write them out

People will understand. We got our proofs two weeks ago and still haven't picked a TY pic
FYI: Duet told us 5-6 also and they were ready a month to the day!

Maybe they can give you the slip in cards that way you can write them all out and be ready as soon as the pictures come in?

i guess its taking longer since wedding season is so busy this time of year....i believe according to wedding etiquite you have up to a year... I went to a wedding on June 25,2005 and I got a TY card on June 2,2006...i thought they had forgotten us already.....
but i guess better late then never

We are in the process of getting our thank you cards made at a print shop... we used Dan Wagner, and he had the digital files to us about a week and a half after the wedding... we're using our fave, in a black and white format, as the cover for the card, and then inside it will only say Thank You so we can write out the rest.... that should be done in another week, and then we'll start the long convoluded process of hand writing thank yous to everyones...
I'm hoping to have things mailed out in the 2-3 months range, maybe 4 months depending on how long it takes to write them all.

We used Duet and our wedding was on June 2nd. We still haven't gotten our proofs back yet, and it's been 6 1/2 weeks. I know they are a lot busier in the summer, but I still get jealous when I hear other brides got their proofs back in 2 weeks!
