Okay, last week FH and I checked out Duet, The Velvet Studio and 12th Night Photography.(In that order too.) I loved duets style but wasn't THRILLED once I met them. We sort of felt rushed during the meeting. I asked about recent work they have done at Chateau Briand and the gentlemen sort of give me a runaround answer. (Maybe he was too tired to go lookup some work) It is VERY important for me to see the work they have done at my venue. Though Duet has work of Chateau Briand on their website, they do not have any photos outdoors which is VERY important for me. We checked out The Velvet Studio and I thought their prices were good and they were VERY friendly but I'm iffy about them also. I've heard that Bob the owner was nice but when we met him he seemed a little...funny(If thats the right word.) I really want to be confident when choosing my photographer, since for me they are as important as the venue. I also met 12th Night photography and Dominic was very nice and funny but their return in proofing is quite a long time. He informed FH and me that they ONLY do digital proofs and that can take up to FIVE months depending on how much work they have. Also my FH was not too thrilled with the company itself. With 12th Night they said they we would not have to pay for the album and that the price would be guaranteed up to one year. (They do this in order for you to have a chance to look at the proofs, etc)My thoughts on this is what if the photos come out a hot mess. LOL. Any one who has met with any of these vendors or have had work done by them PLEASE give some major input......THANKS FELLOW FUTURE BRIDES IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! I am using Velvet. Bob is my photographer and he is very easy to work with and very easy to get a hold of. I call him a lot to talk about stupid things and he is always patient and available to answer my questions! I had my engagement session with Bob last fall, and the pictures came out amazing...FH and I were thrilled with them! You can check them out in my album. Good luck with your search...I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the 3, they are all pretty popular and get good reviews on this site.

Hi, congrats on your engagement! We booked with Duet and met with Eric. He was so nice and threw in tons of stuff we didn't ask for. They were also the least expensive and I loved their work. WE know people that have used them and have said nothing but good things. Eric was very quiet during our meeting but answered all of our questions and gave us a great deal for photo and video. I am booked with 12th night and am 100% confident in their work. Out of all the companies I looked into, he showed me the difference when they digitally correct a picture. Believe me, it is worth the wait!!!!! MY CH starts at 8pm and I wanted to see pictures taken not only at my RH but with African American couples at night. Dom reassured me that all my pictures (even thought it will be night time) will have color to them by showing me an African-American bride with pre and post touches. Also, I feel like I am getting the most out of a basic package.

I also recommend Duet. I am using them based on personal experience... I was MOH at my MOH's wedding last year and they did photo and video. They were amazing a million times over and they threw in so much extra stuff... They also did FH's cousins' wedding video a few years ago and they did a wonderful job on that as well... Plus, the work that I've looked through of theirs is outstanding. They are all very quiet, but are knowledgeable and professional!!

I know what you mean by the service. I too had my doubts, but I did like their pictures and I am glad I went back for a 2nd time! Eric seemed more relaxed and prob. didn't have an appt. booked right after me. I received my proofs approx. 5 weeks after the wedding. I met with all 3 of them as well. While I did like Dominic's work (amazing) I didn't want to wait 1/2 a year or more for my proofs. Plus after the album, videographer was thrown in, it was way too expensive for me. Velvet had a more traditional take on their pics. which was nice, but I wanted something a little diff. I loved that I could pick which photographer I wanted to work with in DUET. best of luck

We booked with Velvet, I was a little iffy at first bc i felt i didnt shop around enough for a photographer but we took our epics with him and he suprised us with an additonal photographer that day and the pics came out soo good! i am very confident that he is going to do a great job at our wedding . Also i feel for what we paid, we got a lot for our money. Hope this helps!!
