Re: duets photography?

Hi, I had a little bit of an experience with them. My girlfriend who's getting married in October and I really liked their work. We both went to their studio and spoke with them about our respective weddings. However, I have to tell you that neither of us hired them. They called us each incessantly. My friend told them that she wasn't interested. I got to the point that they sent me a contract (with a different price than the one that we negotiated). I told them that I would call them (I had just started a new job). Nevertheless, they kept calling me and emailing me about the contract. When they called me three times in one day- that was the last straw. I called and told them that I would not hire them. If they weren't interested in listening to me before the wedding, I could not be assured that they would listen to me at the wedding. This is just my experience. Good luck.

I had the exact opposite experience with them, they were extremely accomodating, and not pushy at all. I only got one phone call from them, and that was to confirm the appointment. They were really nice, and do great work for the price that they quoted me.

Re: duets photography?

We signed Duet for our wedding. At first I could not find any photogs/videog that stood out.
We visited VIP-ok , did not seem to really make good or bad impression.
Patken- highly proffessional sales presentation, very likeable.I am sure they would have been great but they were middle of road in cost. One interesting thing about Patken, and I truly beleive they would do great work; If you read the articles they post on there website, one of them discusses how the owner Patken, lectures around the country on the 'art of selling photography service'. You will probably have to do a google search to find the whole article, but is interesting to read. Needless to say they had by far the best salespeople and made us comfortable.
Fine arts- I would call them a chop shop. They try high pressure, and when you ask price they try to sweep it under the rug . Ask them if you get to keep your negatives and they say'when you give us a referal, we give you your negatives.'I did not accept this and said 'and what if I don't give referral'. The answer was 'oh , you will'. No thanks.
Now comes the interesting part. I have been reading liweddings for info but never wrote anything. We were stuck on photo/video.I saw Littlecat hyping the heck out of DUET. I actually thought that she WAS someone with DUET.(I even said that to DUET when we met them) Cost is a major concern to us.
Based on Littlecat we figured lets check out DUET.She is right on . The price is UNREAL. The quality of the video is unmatched by ANYONE.The owner is was a KOREAN film director, and his editing is awesome . They put together a video / photog package that cost less than most photog. alone.
Even though it is inexpensive, the finished look is not cheap .I have already wrote a novel, but if you want to check ou the prices, search for littlecats old posts. It was exactly on.
The reason I decided to write this referral is because they are so nice. I believe if they can get this business going strong(they are relatively new to the LI scene), there cost will be dramatically more in a year or so.
YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO CHECK THEM OUT, but visit one or two others first so you know what value you are getting.
Lastly, be prepared for people who genuinely are willing to accomodate you to make you happy and get your business. We did not experience any pushiness.Eric and Nicole, the owners are Asian.Eric's spoken English is not polished , but Nicole's is fine. There 'pitch' is not hard sell. Ask them questions and they give honest , genuine caring answers.
IN OUR OPINION YOU WILL NOT FIND BETTER BANG FOR THE BUCK.
and thanks to little cat, who we do not know, for steering us in a great direction, with her accurate posts.

Re: duets photography?

I have to agree with all the positive posts. We weren't going to do video, but changed our minds at the end. So we were looking for something really inexpensive. I could not believe the quality of their product for the price. We hired them for video immedeatly. Then I saw littcat's engagement photos and they totally blew me away.

I also found them incredibly accomodating and not pushy, although I didn't need the hard sell I thought their work spoke for itself. My wedding's in two weeks, I'll let you know how it turns out!
