I just started the Dukan diet yesterday. The nurse at my school did it and lost a significant amount of weight in a short period of time. It is similar to Atkins minus the fat. Anyone ever do it? This is my 2nd day; I am def craving sweets and carbs.

It's soooo hard to get over the sugar cravings. Once you detox it out of you, it will get easier! Have some fruit or something to help, or I find drinking tea can help. I don't know if they'd be allowed on the diet but I swear by Larabars. They are all fruit and nuts and they taste AMAZING. No added sugar or anything so don't get scared by the calories in them, it's all fruit and they are really filling.

For 5 to 10 days you eat only lean protein, nonfat dairy (with no added sugar or fruit), and 1 and a 1/2 tbsp of oat bran. Then after that you alternate your days; 1 day of lean protein and the other day lean protein plus non starchy veggies. The nurse I work with lost 20 pounds in 2 months.

I give you credit - I couldn't cut out carbs or fat of all kinds. I get KILLER migraines if I don't eat carbs

Its only day 2 we will see in a couple of days. I feel so pressured because I want to look for dresses in August, therefore, I need to lose about 40 pounds :(

I have lost 15 lbs by JUST counting calories. Check out myfitnesspal. com. It will tell you how many calories a day you should be eating and help you keep track of everything. You CAN do it - but make sure you're doing it in a healthy way. It WILL get easier!

Re: Dukan
agree with jess! i don't use myfitnesspal, i use livestrong's myplate, but just seeing the calories i need to lose 1 lb per week and having to add what i'm doing makes me very accountable. i can't deal with diets that make you cut things out, i like options lol

I totally agree! If I'm craving something, I'm going to eat it. But my cravings are definitely getting less as I go along!
