I was talking to my cousin who said she goes to Sheryl Tomack.She says she is great. I just looked to see if she takes my insurance and she does. But it says no OB I thought that ment they can't deliever babies? I am a little lost. I could swear she said she delivered her baby and her sisters too. If they can't deliever the baby and they are your dr. then who delivers it? The dr on duty that day???

I love Tomack. I've been to her here in Forest Hills, but she's only here once a month. I tried another doctor in another practice and it was a BAD BAD BAD experience.
I plan to go back to Tomack, even if it means hauling my rear to LI....
Let me know what you find out. She is a class act. SO gentle and reassuring. I know people who said she delivered their kids. Maybe she stopped? Weird, she's still pretty young -- late forties/early fifties the most....

You need an OB to deliver your baby. A GYN is for women's health care other than pregnancy. Personally I would not go to a GYN and then just let 'whoever' deliver my baby...labor and delivery is not something you just want to trust to any doctor who happens to be on call or walks in that day....JMO but I am sure she can rec'd a wonderful OB.

I wouldn't want anyone that I didn't know deliver my baby either. Thats why I was asking. Its strange that my 2 cousins told me that she delieverd their babies. HMMM.... I guess its back to the drawing board. Thank you

It could mean that she now does not practice OB...due to the high cost of insurance AND the schedule of an OB some decide to go to GYN only....maybe she had a baby and can't just rush out the door anymore? Where are you located?

I'm a little confused to this post...I am currently a patient of Dr. Tomack's. I visit her at the LI Women's Health Clinic. I've had numerous discussions w/ her about delivering my baby in July and she never once said that she doesn't do that anymore. Perhaps you should call the clinic and ask for yourself. Let me know the results..........

I just loked her up on the HIP website b/c that's my plan and it lists her as an OB/GYN....
I'll just die if you're right b/c I love her and can't imagine going to anyone else.....
