ok on to the next step of planning .. the 'person' who is going to marry us ..
neither fh or i are really religious .. so we are looking for a justice of the peace kinda thing .. is it still even called that ,.. or is it now a 'wedding officiant'
id like to post on vendors helping brides but dont wanna sound like a complete idiot .. too late on here
please help me out with the lingo!! haha in that case does anyone have anyone to reccomend?

It's funn how we have to make sure we word things right so we don't sound like dummies! I do the same thing all the time lol. It's wedding officiant. I can't give you any advice on any since I'm doing the church thing but take a look here. http://liweddings.com/vendors/officiants/

They are called both. If you are looking for a non-religious officiant then it's just called that, but there are officiants who are justice of the peace. Just go on VHBs and tell them you are looking to have a non-religious ceremony and you are looking for an officiant who does so. Some who reply MIGHT be justice of the peace but others might just be non-religous officiants. Does that make sense?

give Rev Deb a call ... she's an LIW vendor (Ceremonies of the Heart) ... i saw her perform a wedding about a year or two ago and it was sooo beautiful
