I got a quote for calligraphy for the outer envelope and for the inner and outer envelope... What inner envelope are they referring too?

Re: Dumb question-
In addition to the outer (main enevelope), the invitation and all its inserts goes in another envelope called an inner envelope.

Re: Dumb question-
You may not have the inner envelope, my invites were really big and they did not come with the inner envelope.

Re: Dumb question-
The invitation and all the parts go into an ungummed envelope, on which you right the persons informal name ( Uncle Bob & AUnt Jane, Keith & guest, etc) then the whole thing goes in the envelope that will have the stamp on it. The Uncle Bob part is called the inner envelope. They are optional.
The response envelope usually you can get pre-printed with your address on it, since they will all be the same.

Re: Dumb question-
I think that it also sometimes has the more informal name on it. (what you would need calligraphy for)
My friend sent hers like this:
Outer Envelope: Ms. Katherine Smith
Inner Envelope: Katie

Re: Dumb question-
The outer envelope has the formal name and address(mr & mrs John smith)
then inside, the inner envelope with the invitation, the inner evelope(John & Jane Smith, or John smith and guest)
