Dumb Question!

We were thinking of going away for a weekend next month to Quebec and Montreal... but I don't have a passport!!! Do you know if I need a passport to go to Canada? I feel like an idiot but I'm totally clueless about these things!!! I think I definitely need some kind of documents though, right?

YES! You need a passport anywhere outside of the US or it's territories (PR, Virgin Islands, GUAM)
I don't know if you're still allowed to enter Canada through the border, w/ a valid ID and original birth certificate, but FH visited Montreal last year and only used his birth certificate.

I am pretty sure you need a passport NAYTIME you leave US borders now. the law was passed las year but not going to be put into full effect till beginning of the year. We are already in April so I assume you need one. Let me check...

Wasn't entirely clear so I would call your local post officethey usually know about the passport info. To be honest, i would just get one because you are going to need it if not right now, very soon and better to be safe than locked out of the borders!
