I have long, pin straight hair with layers in it. I don't think it looks right wearing my hair down on interviews since there really is nothing to it. Is there another way to wear it other than in a bun or french twist?
Would half up half down look 'unprofessional'?

I wouldn't go with 1/2 up, 1/2 down but that's just me. I think you could wear it in a low ponytail with a side sweep/part though and it would be cute. I've done that before on interviews.

If your hair is straight, I think you can put a 1/4 of it up (or back) into a small barrette. I think that would look professional and I have seen women do that and it looks neat. A tortoise barrette would probably look the nicest.
