We're supposed to pay the balance on most of our vendors the night of the wedding, in cash. Now, does that mean CASH or does it mean we write them a check? Because when the hall said to pay them in 'cash' , they meant a check. Same with the photographer.
So are we just giving people checks, or am I really supposed to show up with thousands of dollars in cash?

i think we paid cash foreverything. My dad carried around all the envelopes with cash in it.

I will be paying my vendors the week before the wedding by check. I didn't want to have to worry about handling that the night of the wedding.

I think if they say cash, they mean cash or certified bank check, this way there is a guarantee that it will not bounce. We paid cash, but we didn't have much left to pay any of our vendors, we paid most in advance.

Very few vendors will accept checks the day of. I woudl double check (they are worried about you cancelling the check, or it bouncing, etc.)
Most will let you pay by check the week before instead of bringing all that cash.
the only thing I am paying for the day of is my tips (and hotel) Everything else is paid for.

Hmm, I don't think FH will let us pay the week before since then you have no guarantee that they'll even show up at the wedding. (He's paranoid) I just hate the idea of someone having lots of cash--it could so easily get lost or stolen. I guess I'm paranoid too!

FH is worreid to give them all that cash and then what if they say you never gave it to them. There is no receipt. We owe the band almost $4k the day of the wedding.

I think they mean the green stuff!!! We had a whole bunch of envelopes to give out the day of our wedding.

put diffent people in charge of different vendors, so at least the cash is spread out& it is not just 1 person carrying it all.
I think the band & tips & mostly what I have to pay there.oh and the limo,but I guess they get paid as soon as they get to my house.

I talked to some of my vendors, who actually let us pay them the night before the wedding. Then I had cash to pay for the rest of them.
