I just checked teh Fleet website and it didnt have the price but it did say it was good for 90 days!

We got preapproved through HSBC and it was free. It was good for 120 days I think. Then, if we didn't find anything, we could basically renew it (have to give new pay stubs, bank statements, etc) and they would renew it for another 120 days. Once we would find a house and put it through for real, it would be a $300 app. fee.

we tried a commercial bank and a credit union...and both were free...


BUT we found that we got a MUCH better rate with a mortgage broker...they look at tons of bank offers and know programs that you never heard of...


there fee is part of our closing...but they take care of all the paper work - so I don't mind at all
