What does it mean when you buy a DVD and it says widescreen? I am buying the John Adams dvd for fh and best buy has it for 40.00 but it says widescreen?

that means the black blocks will be on the top and bottom of the screen. its how the movie is at the theatre. it won't be the full screen of your tv

Nothing really is different except that its wider. it doesn't cut off any parts of the movie. Other than that nothing is different

no bc then that is full screen. Its not lines either. Its when you see the movie in the middle part of the tv, but on top and the bottom its just all black but the movie itself will take up most of the space.

a few minutes into the movie you hardly notice the black bars....well i dont anyway
