My sister also has a size 5. We went to Hazel's in Bayside and although they didn't have them in stock they did order the shoe for her and it came in pretty quickly. And not to worry, you can have your shoes dyed ivory.

thanks, i'm in jersey though - places in manhattan would be better

if you don't order from the store, do you know if they will dye them for you anyway?

I live on Long Island...but I know that the bridal shoe store near me will die shoes there even if you don't buy them there...so maybe you could order off line and then bring them to a shoe store near you. Just make some phone calls.

I think shoe repair places may also dye shoes.

I know one dyed my ballet pink pointe shoes skin tone beige for a show once.

Where in the city do you work? There's a little shoe repair place I pass everyday from the subway on 40th between 5th and 6th (right off 6th) and they dye shoes. I am also a size 5 so I feel your pain with the shoes. I know I have gotten dyeable shoes at Bakers so they definitely carry a size 5 there. Good luck!

(Oh, by the way, I've been meaning to post...saw Farenheit 9/11 about 2 weeks ago so I can fully discuss it now )

size 5 is SUCH A PAIN - have you tried to order shoes online? have you had success with that?

I haven't ordered online too much unless it's from a place where I already know the size will fit (Banana Republic, etc). It is such a freaking pain and no one understands! They order 1 pair in a size 5 and when they're gone, you're out of luck. Annoying beyond belief! It's nice to know other people have midget feet too

Well, I thought it was a good movie rather than a good documentary... but I'm glad I saw it. FH was all riled up afterwards (he's pretty anti-Bush) so it made for some interesting dinner conversation.

If you go to Colorifics.com they have listing of stores that carry their shoes. I think dyables does too.
