dye-able shoes

Hey ladies!!! FH was thinking about buying me a pair of dye-able Christian Louboutins to wear for the wedding as a 4 year anniversary present (if we can get them on sale, lol) I've never even owned a pair of Louboutins before, but we found a pair we loved... I'm just wondering if we could dye them w/o messing up the red sole, or any of the crystals on the shoe?... has anybody ever done this??
