Dyeable shoes question...

Dyeable shoes question...

My FMIL complained about the shoes that I want my bridal party to get. She said that the dyeable shoes are bad. The dye comes off of the shoe onto you, and when you dye them black it doesn't last at all, and then if they're dyed, you have to worry about getting them wet? Any opinions on this?

Dyeable shoes question...

why would you dye shoes black? One of the main reasons that I chose black for my BM dresses is that my girls could cut them shorter and use them again after the wedding - and because they wouldn''t have to get their shoes dyed! There are MILLIONS of cool nice black shoes out there, that they could pick and all get the same!! As for the other colors, I have shoes all colors of the rainbow that I have had dyed for the weddings I was in, that is pretty much an unavoidable thing if you have a colored BM dress, I think. Nobody loves dyed shoes, (since they can''t be worn again) but it''s part of the whole BM thing!! good luck!

I think your asking about dying already dyed shoes black. While I've never had this happen to me, I've heard that shoes dyed black over another color do have a tendancy to bleed in the rain.

On the other hand you may want to consider that if they wear the shoes a few times after your wedding, its not such a bad purchase. I mean how often do you really wear the same dress shoes? I know I have a closet full of black shoes for dressy occasions!

I don't want the shoes black for the wedding, they dye them black after the wedding so you can wear them again.

I personally don't like dyed shoes...I am having my BMs buy ivory shoes...

Well, I thought about getting different shoes, but the color of my BM's dresses are like a Victorian Lilac. I don't think there's shoes out there in that color. We'll just have to deal with the dyeables.
