dyi card boxes -- help!

if you made your own card box to look like a cake, where did you get the boxes? did you use round hat boxes or did you use rectangular cardboard boxes?

please help!!!!

I used round ones but rectangle would be fine too. It is all in how you want your card box to look. I got mine at a local crafts store. I think Michaels and Home Goods have them. It doesn't matter if they have a design on them because you are going to cover them with material.

I have seen them at wrapwithus in syosset. Check their website to see if it is on there

Mine is still a work in progress, but I got round hat boxes in three sizes at Michaels in Lake Grove (I've seen them at the one in Huntington though). They also have square ones. Instead of wrapping them in fabric or paper, I painted them in a light blue and have navy blue ribbon to wrap the edges. I'm going to assemble the boxes in a stacked tier manner and then place sea shells on top of the tiers. Wish I had pictures to show!

I used the papier mache boxes from Michaels and spray painted them with a glossy paint. Came out pretty good...
