Re: E BAY Vent
if there is no buy it now. then make your max bid $20 over the asking price. that have to sit idle-ly by. it will send you an outbid, if you want it that bad then you can go back and bid.

Re: E BAY Vent
eBay will send you an email everytime you get outbid, so you can go ahead and make a larger 'max bid' GOOD LUCK (not ALL products have 'buy it now', even though they should) Don't feel so bad LP I had to wait 6 days for my veil, thankfully no one outbid me!

Re: E BAY Vent
If you really want em, consider Mrs K suggestion -- post a good amoount higher -- like $25 or so. The bid will only go up if you have competition and ebay will happily inform you (hoping you continue to keep upping bids)

Re: E BAY Vent
Its a service where they will bid for you with 5 seconds left in the auction. This way you can't get outbid. If you bid early you leave all the time left to be outbid. I always wait until the end. This way there is no bidding war.

Re: E BAY Vent
whenever i bid i start with a LOW 'max' bid, so i KNOW i wont end up paying my REAL 'max' bid .... then if someone outbids me i bid alittle higher. and so on and so on.. of course you have to be able to really be watching your item to do this. i got REALLLY screwed once by putting my REAL max bid in. By someones 2nd bid it was already at the most i wanted to pay. so i do it in slow increments.... i hope this makes sense... it probbaly only does in my mind, its hard to explain.

Is esnipe a free service? If not, how do they make $$$?

Re: E BAY Vent
No it is not. I like it is around 25 cents if you win the item. It has helped me win so many items. I love it!

Re: E BAY Vent
try to bid @ the end of the auction...bidding early and often only drives up the price much faster
example..i sold brought an item for 88 bucks..., me and this other person were going back and forth. i ended up winning the auction but the very same item next time it went on sale...no one bid untill the very end and won for 40...half price

Re: E BAY Vent
LP, there may have been a buy it now- and someone killed it when they bid. For example, if an auction starts at 19.99, with a BIN for 29.99, and someone puts in a bid for 24.50, the BIN no longer applies. Then the auction runs until the end.

Re: E BAY Vent
As long as you check the feedback of the seller and it is extremely positive there is nothing to worry about. Always pay with paypal. Then you are always covered by the buyer protection. I have been using ebay since 1999 and I love it!
