e party

ok girls... engagement party invites are going out today! (so excited)
BUT - for those of you who have yoru e-party or know the answer to this question, please help!

Did you do a gift table? and if so - how did you decorate it? did you do a collage of pictures at all? where did that go? I don't know what to do for decorations! lol
It is a brunch, so nothign super formal.

YAY i am glad your invites are going out.

We are having a gift table - we have the card box going on it (pics in my album) and we will have some silk rose pedals we are putting down and some LED votives I got - that's basically it.

You can totally put pics out of you and FH - from your eshots maybe?!?!

We also have a table for the seating cards - there we will have the huge guestbook/frame and the poem that i made telling people what to do. Have some silk rose pedals there too and the LED votive candles. I have some pics that I might put on that table or the gift table - counts on how it looks the day of.

i had my eparty last weekend ... i had the same questions you did beforehand

we did have a gifts table, but it was not decorated in any way. i think decorating adds unnecessary stress (and cost).

each of the guest tables was decorated with some balloons ... and we had a guitarist duo sing/play for everyone. Nobody was dancing or whatnot but it definitely added tot he atmosphere.

we didn't do anything 'extra' ... we just hung out with people and everyone had a great time.

let me know if you have any other questions

I wouldn't worry about decorating the gift table! For all the showers I've been a part of, we haven't bothered, b/c the table just gets covered with packages. If you decide to put flowers or something like that on it in the beginning, just plan on moving them somewhere else later on!

Where did you have yours. thats kind of going to be like mine. Not really a dancing scene (until the drinks are flowing nicely) hehe

Okay. Thanks! At all the e-parties I have been to there have been collages of the bride and groom and their bridal party and family etc.. everyone really went all out. I agree about the stress (and cost) saving theory! Lol
I might just buy a big balloon or something like that and a cute little potted plant or something… its true.. if people are bringing gifts, all the decorations are going to get moved anyway lol I have to check out your card box pics Eloise! Maybe I could even do that!

I have heard of people doing the big collages - 1, i'm sooo not that skilled and 2, i just don't have the time!

We are going to introduce our bridal party so people will know who they are - some of them might not enjoy that but whatevs lol so doing that and that collage might be overkill.

We had it at a restaurant in Great Neck called Colbeh ... they have a big room in the back that is really nice ... and the food was served at the table (they put plates full of food in the middle and everyone took what they wanted). the food there is mediterranean so it's different than what people are used to ... but everyone was raving about how good it tasted.
