We finally sent out our invites for our engagement party.... but I have a question...
On the invite I didn't include registry information since we haven't registered yet. Honestly, if people bring gifts I was hoping for cash (I know that sounds rude but I am being honest), and some friends told me that since I didn't include registry information, people might assume that we don't want gifts...
Now I am not asking for gifts or anything, honestly I am not assuming that everyone is going to bring a gift but now I am worried, should I have included info on the invitations?? We aren't having this party in order for people to give us things, we really just wanted to celebrate with friends and family.
TIA!

Re: e party
We had a family only bbq this past weekend ... a sort of engagement party. We hadnt even registered and then people kept asking over and over so we did. We got oodles of gifts from our registry. If you dont register you take the chance of ppl either giving you cash or giving you a present of their choosing. However, in hindsight I wish I would have written 'No gifts please' ... especially since it was family! That wasnt its purpose!
All depends on how you feel. But dont be surprised if ppl start asking where you are registered!

Re: e party
I'd say unless you have an unusual family they will bring gifts, my mom told everyone I was registered for my e-party, it was not in the invites! But I still got gifts and $$$.

Re: e party
We registered just in case. We did not put it on the invitation or volunteer that info until we were asked. Only 2 people used the registry, everyone else gave money.

Re: e party
I didn't include registry info when I sent out my invites because at that point we didnt register because I did not want actual gifts either, we need money, weddings are expensive! so I refuse to tell people that we registered unless they ask haha!

Re: e party
My parents did not put our registry information on the invite. I did not want anyone to feel obligated to give us anything. But we were registered and my mom told anyone who asked where we are registered.
