So we booked our e-party for 10/29/11. In the process of planning this w my mother i might end up in jail. if she tells me one more time that shes paying so it is her way i mgiht punch her in the face. (sorry that sounds brutal) I am suddenly thankful that she is not paying for anything at my wedding, part of me doesnt even want this e-party now.
I just do not understand why it has to be her way or the highway she wotn listen to me about anything and she thinks only her side of the family matters.
I just want to curl up and cry! Grrrr!
Sorry i needed to vent.

Re: E-Party
I'm sorry to hear that. Remind her that it is your and your future hubby's day and that your already have a vision for what you want your day to be like. My friend's MIL had a lot to say when she was planning her day. Finally, my friend said to her in a joking tone, 'Well when it's your wedding day you can plan it your way.' Haha! Mind you her MIL is married, bit it kept her quiet.

Re: E-Party
Maybe compromise... Let her do the e-party, she pays and it's her way, but during the wedding ask her to follow through on your vision. I'm sure she will have a hand in your shower too!

Re: E-Party
FH's parents don't believe in engagement parties--so I stayed away from that with a ten foot pole.

awww I'm sorry you're going through this. I think that sometimes our mom's try to live through us- maybe their mother or MIL ruined their vision so they're trying to get it out now lol

Re: E-Party
sorry you are having a rough time but congrats on booking it! i agree, i'm kind of letting my mom handle the engagement party (within reason) since i'm much more flexible about that than the wedding. good luck and don't get too caught up in the drama...it won't matter in the end if it isn't perfect. just enjoy the process and celebration.
