Are you obligated to give a favor for an e-party? We werent planning on it but I've had a few people asking me what favors we're having so now I'm not sure if we should be giving out favors....is it ok not to give favors? TIA

Re: E-party etiquette
I don't think you HAVE to, but it's certainly a nice gesture.
ETA: We made our favors, it was easy and cheap. They looked like this only they were filled with M&Ms.

what a great idea!!!
it isn't required, but i also think it depends on the size of the party. If it is a very small get together in your yard, then maybe just sending people home with left overs or a simple thank you for coming is more than enough. But when you rent a hall and do a more formal event people usually expect some kind of thank you for coming and/or bringing a gift. it is a personal preference though of course!!!!!!!
we are having a tiffany themed Eparty so our favors are those lil tiffany box shaped candles. they are on sale ( at least they were last week ) at weddingthings.com for $1. I never would have gotten them at the normal 3$ price cause we have spent enough..but i just couldn't pass up the price they were offering. they also have a store on 3rd ave in manhattan. theres a pic in my album but you can't see it very well. We are just gonna add a ribbon with thank you tags that i am making on the comp. :)

nah i don't think it's required.. although if u do decide to do favors dont wait till the night before like my mom.. hence the reason why at 2:18 i'm still up.. uggh..

Re: E-party etiquette
We have been to eparties where there was no favor, little favors, and nice favors! Its up to you what you want to do.
And honestly, if you dont want a favor...the majority of the people wont even think twice about it!

No you are not. Some people don't even give favors for weddings. We just had a small e-party in the backyard and I was going to make chocolate, but it didn't come out.

I guess it depends on how formal it is. We are having a very formal wedding so we decided the e-party should be casual. We rented out a pick nick section of a state park and had a big BBQ. It was great. Everyone had a blast and NO favors.

For my daughters e-party we had hershey bars - with a cute wrapper. It was an old fashioned picture of a girl & boy dressed as bride & groom and we had their photos from when they were little superimposed onto the picture. Real cute. Not too many people even realized it was actually them!

I don't think it's required either...... We went to michaels and got the little 'LOVE' tins - they were 30 in a box for like 10$ and then we had the personalized M&M's made..... that was our favor.

I didn't even think about favors for our e-parties (we had two- one in NY and one in DC where we live)

Re: E-party etiquette
We didn't give out anything and I dont think anyone noticed. We aren't giving out a favor at the wedding either- we made a donation to breast cancer. I don't think you have to give anything- it's totally up to you- but I don't think anyone will frown upon you if you don't give anything.

Re: E-party etiquette
I don't think it is required for an e-party since, technically, you are not suppose to receive or ask for e-party gifts. However, most people give gifts so we did do favors. We did chocolate pops with e-rings on them- nothing big!
