I'll start off by saying I'm not throwing the E-party, someone else is throwing it for us. I understand that you can't invite people to the E-party who aren't invited to the wedding . . . but my question is, does that include kids? The E-party is a very casual backyard party and most of the invites that went out said 'Mr and Mrs Smith and Family'. What is concerning me a little is that we're not inviting children to the wedding. FH says people will understand that but I'm a tiny bit worried. What do you girls think?

Re: E-party etiquette question?
I think its ok to invite them to the e-party and not the wedding. At least i hope so, b/c thats what I am doing!!
I think people expect to find babysitters for evening weddings, but not on a sunday morning.

Re: E-party etiquette question?
I'd say it's ok, since your e-party isn't really very formal. I didn't invite kids to my e-party, but I figured the parents would want an afternoon away.

I think you should be fine because you're having an informal engagement party. I'm planning on doing the same thing!

Re: E-party etiquette question?
We are doing the same thing. we invited kids to our backyard BBQ e- party. i think its fine to do it that way. the only kids that are invited to the wedding are the kids in the bridal party- and thats if the parents want to take them.

Re: E-party etiquette question?
FH's uncle brought his kids to our outdoor e-party and they aren't invited to the wedding. They know they aren't invited to the wedding but everyone had a great time! Don't sweat it!
