E-party Games

E-party Games

I am having a small (36 people) brunch E-party this saturday. I am very nervous about it and to be honest w. you I am NOT looking forward to it at all. His parents had a painful divorce and this will be the 1st time that they will be together in the same room in ten years. They will be there w. their new spouses and children. Anyway, long story short, my parents arent crazy about his father. His father isnt crazy about my family or his ex either. I am nervous b.c I am afraid that somebody might say something stupid and then the whole thing goes sour. I am not having music or entertainment at this thing. Now I am worried that its going to be really boring.

So I was wondering if you guys knew of any E-party games we might be able to play to 'kind of' break the ice or at least entertain people. Also, who is supposed to make a toast at this thing? Am I supposed to have favors? Should I even bother? You guys, I am really nervous, and I am beg. to regret even having this stupid thing. I dont even have a dress to wear, and honestly dont even have money to go buy one.

i can't really offer any advice as i've never been to an e-party, but i just wanted to wish you luck. i'm sure that it will be a lot better than you think. hopefully FH's parents will put aside whatever awkward/ bitter/ bad feelings that are between them, and just be there for you guys! as far as the dress goes... it sounds pretty informal, so i'm sure that you could get away with mostly anything! good luck, and try to enjoy!

I went to a wedding once where they had people at tables who didn't know each other. So they had a crossword puzzle with different clues about the couple to get people talking to each other. Some at the table knew the bride, others knew the groom, so by sharing info, you could solve the puzzle. The first table to finish won quick pick lotto tickets.

Another thing that I've seen at engagement parties is passing around a journal for people to give advice to the couple.

This is a great idea!! I hate that you are so nervous and not even enjoying it! My eparty was last sat (camera broke so Im waiting for pics then I iwll review it)... BUt I seriously had one of the best nights of my life.. I hate that you are so not looking forward to it..
I thin that the key is to realize that you have a smaller bunch of people to entertain so it will be very personal...this is very nice! YOu need to remember that people are there for you and your FH bc they love and care about you.,..dont stress.. just be natural and relax. YOur mood dictates the party... your relaxed... everyone else will be too... your tense...people will be that way too, ya know?!

I closed out the screen and replied to someone elses message but I think you asked about the toast... My dad gave the toast for us.

Good luck and breathe! If you need anything FM me!

I feel terrible that you are feeling this way!!! I would think that that crossword puzzle idea is great. I really like that...it will break the ice between guest that dont know one another....orrrr you could get a sheet of paper and put questions on them about you and Fh...the table would have to work together to answer the questions and then have a prize at the end. Or you could ask guests to write down their fondest memories of the two of you or somthing funny that they remember about you guys...I think that would break the ice!!

I am working on the crossword puzzle as we speak w. one of my students (Gabriella) lol. I am also going to pass around a jar filled w. plastic rings and have the guests guess how many rings there are in the jar. I think I will do the journal thing as well. I really wish I would have thought about this sooner! I have to see if I can manage to make up a collage of our pictures. ugh... I really hope my wedding day isnt this stressful!!! ahhhh!!!
