E Party Help

Hey, girls. I'm having a dilemma with my mother about my E party (probably the first of many!!)

We planned to have the party at her house in Suffolk County on Memorial Day because all of FH's family will be in town. Now she is saying she wants to change the date because she doesn't want to inconvenience our family in Queens, NJ, and CT with all of the traffic. But my FSIL can only come that day! And if we have it another time, almost all of FH's aunts and uncles can't come.

How can I still have it on Memorial Day but make it more convenient for my family? Any ideas? HELP!!!

Have it at an off hour? or the Sunday - maybe there will be less traffic bc it is the middle of the holiday weekend
honestly anywhere on LI will be tough that weekend.

Good idea, but unfortunately it has to be on Monday. FH's family is flying in on Saturday and then going to a wedding on Sunday. I'm wondering if LIRR or ferry may be better than driving.

In all honesty, if they really want to be there then they'll do whatever they can to make it!!

Memorial Day is always a big weekend everywhere!!

Well if people are coming from the West, I don't think traffic will be that bad on the Monday of Memorial Day depending on time of course. Traffic will probably be heaviest going East to West cause of people coming back from the Hamptons, the beach...
