Ok - so we are getting ready to send out our invites for the E-Party (hopefully by Monday - I am so excited!). We are only inviting close family and bridesmaids and groomsmen and three extremely close couples to both of our parents. So, my question is, 2 of these couples have kids - and the kids will not be invited to the wedding. My question is, would you invite the kids to the E-Party? The kids are 13, 15 and 18 and we are having a backyard bbq and FIL's house. I dont have any problem inviting the kids to the E-Party - but would that be tacky to invite them to the E-Party if the kids aren't invited to the wedding?
Help!
TIA!

Re: E-Party Invite Question
IMO 13, 15 & 18 really aren't considered kids. yes they should be invited to the e-party & they should also be invited to the wedding. if you think back to when u where that age, u would of felt weird if your parents where invited to a wedding & you where not.
however if u are definitely not inviting them to the wedding then they should not be invited to the e-party. its rule of thumb that people invited to the e-party will also take part in the other wedding events.

Re: E-Party Invite Question
The parents of the 15 & 18 yr old already told us not to invite their kids to the wedding bc they knw we are paying for it ourselves and we really dont even know their kids. As for the 13 yo - we will not be having anyone under the age of 18 at our wedding....we are having a 'no kids' wedding...and plus - we don't even know the 13yo. Just wasn't sure what to do for the E-Party....

o alright. i didn't realize that the parents had already said not to invite them. with that in mind i think u should leave it up to the parents. it is a bbq at home so maybe it would be nice to include them.

Re: E-Party Invite Question
Being that your not inviting the kids to the wedding, i would keep the eparty as a no kids party too, this way there is no confusion and less questions

Re: E-Party Invite Question
ok - thanks ladies. Thats what I pretty much figured. The parents are aware that the kids wont be invited to the wedding - so I am just going to address the invites to the parents. Since it is a bbq I will leave it up to FH to see if he wants to state to the parents that they are welcome to bring the kids to the e-party only. He was insistent to include them on the invite but I said no bc they wont be invited to the wedding...
thanks again

Re: E-Party Invite Question
We're not having kids at the wedding (except family), but since our eparty is a BBQ, we decided to have a kid-friendly eparty.

If they are NOT invited to the wedding, then I would not invite them to the eparty.

just wanted to add to that: The kids were having at our eparty are young (all under 8). I think without teenagers though it gets alot more tricky b/c then it might be weird if you dont invite them to the wedding.
