E-Party Invites are Sent! (Well...almost all of them) WARNING - VERY LONG!
I finally got those suckers out this past week. And I learned my lesson....DO THINGS EARLY!!!!!!!! I ordered them later than when I wanted and then when they came in, they were mis-printed and had to be re-done! Then the inner envelopes were left behind at the store, but I had thought they were at my house and FH and I spent a good frantic couple of hours trying to figure out where they were! I had posted a poll previously on the best way to address them. I ended up using the clear stick-on labels that I printed on MS Word. They came out perfect!!!!!!
After that, when I took the first batch to the post office --that was another fiasco. I was standing on a long line waiting to see how much it would cost to send them. Some guy who works there asked if anyone was paying by credit card, we could use the self-serve kiosk.
So, I go weigh them and he tells me it will be regular first-class stamp. After I buy 3 books of stamps and he says 'Let me double-check that'. It turns out they were considered 'over-size' and needed $0.49. I get back on the end of the line. When I get to the window, they offer me to use $0.50 stamps. So, I say fine and he brings them over, but they are not self-adhesives. I'd have to lick each one if I wanted them to go out that day (Eeeewww-no way that was happening!). Then I ask if they have additional stamps I could put with the $0.37 stamps. I could use a $0.10 and a $0.02. He brings them over -- no more $0.02, just $0.01. I need to add 3 additional stamps to my $0.37 and they are not self-adhesive.
So , finally I say -- can you just stamp each one - thinking that they would put the red-ink stamp from the machine. He says sure. I sense people in the long line behind me are getting impatient. He starts to print out $0.49 stamps that are HUGE! I'm talking big white and pink ones that are like 3 inches across and 1 inch high. They take up practically 1/4 of my envelope. At this point, I'm not going to stop him and decided to just let things be.
I end up buying the $0.50 stamps for the remainder that did not go out yet --- and have FH lick them all for me
