FH's mom wants to throw us a small backyard engagement party in June. Pretty much just a get together for her friends and some of the extended family to meet me.
Which do you think would be better, a Saturday night cocktail party? (They have a gorgeous backyard with all sorts of lights and a fire pit) Or a Sunday brunch? (The pool would be open.)
I'm leaning towards Saturday evening but I'm not sure what would be best for folks traveling from out of town.
Opinions?

I think Saturday would be great!!! People are in much more of a party mood at night! Plus allows out of towners time to travel without having to travel all in the same day! Saturday night definitely!!

i think both sound nice.....if u have any younger family members then id go w sunday, otherwise i guess i would say sat

we're doing the same thing. We're having it June 5th, a saturday night. Going to be our friends and family!! We plan to have a few kegs, and booze so that's why it's going to be a saturday night. Our friends and family are a bunch of crazies when we all get together!

Sat night, I think it would be more of a mingling party!!!! OMG u have to do smores over the pit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

either one would be very nice. If u have a lot of ppl coming from out of town though, Sunday afternoon would be best so they would be able to get home and not have to worry about finding a place to stay overnight

Saturday night...that way people can really enjoy themselves..recoupe Sunday and go to work Monday.
