Not having one. Not my thing. Our engagement wasn't very long and we thought it to be unnecessary. People who wanted to give us gifts, gave them anyway. We have a closet full already and we've only been engaged for 3 months.

Same w/ us. My parents really wanted to have an engagement party for us. Ours was in June. If not for them, we wouldn't have had one.

Didn't have one, it's not a typical thing in my family, although FH's family did send us cash as an engagement present!! (That was new to me!!)

Same here. Personally, I think it's too much to ask (unless you specify no gifts) with the shower and wedding, but that's just my opinion. We received engagement gifts as well from those close to us, but we both decided it would be best for us to not have a party.

We threw ourselves a casual bbq e-party in our yard. We told a lot of people not to bring gifts. Mainly we did it to celebrate and have a good time.

We didn't have one, but our bridal party is organizing a dinner for us and the BP in a few weeks so everyone can 'bond.' I love the idea, it's really nice of them to do that for us.

I had it in April..and my Mom threw it for us at a Knights of Columbus..it was AWESOME!

Ours was simple. Just dinner with the immediate family. So that makes 11 of us.
