FH and I have an engagement party this weekend and we are unsure of what an appropriate gift is. The couple isnt registered yet so cash is the only option.. how much is the right amount to give?

I dont know the appropriate amount but most couple gave us 100 for our egagement party minus couples that were family because they varied

the most common amount I got was $100 even from singles! I had a lot of checks and big bills!!!

$100 Seems appropriate. If you dont want to give cash you can always do a gift card to BBB or Crate and Barrel etc.....

$100 is a good gift. We also got some gift cards and some presents. A cake cutting set is always a nice present
