E-party question

I already asked my bridesmaids and groomsmen to be in the wedding party a few months ago. I mailed my bridesmaids beautiful cards asking them...anyhow, my engagement party is in 2 weeks, does my FH and I suppose to give them gifts or something? I am lost on that one, what did you do?

I don't plan on giving gifts until the rehearsal dinner.

I don't think you have to or would it even be expected to get gifts at the engagement party. I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding recently and at her engagement party she gave us all team Melissa pins to wear....I thought that was so cute and we all actually wore the pin the morning of her wedding when we were getting ready.
