E-Party Questions??

E-Party Questions??

Can me and FH host our own eparty? Can we like have a super casual BBQ in our back yard? Do you think its 'weird' to have one since we have been together 8 years and have a daughter together? Long story short this is what my mom hinted at when she offered to have one for us then acted like she never said anything... I just wanted a nice party to share all my excitement w/ friends and fam... But instead I get annoyed and self conscious that I shouldn't be doing this.... Is it me?
TIA

I don't think there is anything wrong with celebrating your engagement. And so what that you have a daughter- she must love this and would love to see her parents celebrate! I say go for it!

I definitely don't think it's weird on any accounts. Bottom line, you two want to celebrate your love and no matter when, where, or how you do it, you should.

I thinks its a great idea. You're excited and you want to celebrate your engagement. What better way than do it with your friends and family in a cozy backyard setting. Thats exactly what we're doing.

You can definitely do that. We're doing the same thing...very casual, backyard party, just to get everyone together and celebrate!

We had a pretty casual backyard bagel brunch sort of thing. I guess the thing that made it fancy was the tent we put up to block people from the sun and the people FMIL decided to hire to clean up and put the food out on the buffet table... but both weren't necessary! Buy yourself a big cake and have a great party!
