What can I write as a general Thank You to someone who gave us money?

Does Thank you for sharing in our special day sound too much for a wedding?

i have been having the same trouble I catually posted soemthing like this the other day.

I've been basically writing something like this....

we were so happy that they were able to help us celebrate this special time in our lives. thank you very much for the generous gift.

I like the wording also, if you don't mind I going to use it.
