E-photo shoot only on a weekday? Take off from work?
Has anyone else encountered this problem? My photographer only does e-photos on Tue-Wed-Thurs and FH and I both work (duh!). Did you take off a day from work to do it? Also, we want to go and take them at the beach - it's getting chilly! Any suggestions? Should I wait till Spring? (Our wedding is in July) TIA!

I did take off to take e-pics. Depends on your situation though if you have to or if you don't. DH didnt take off. I was working in jersey and by the time i got home it was about 6:-6:30 and i would've had to come home to shower and change so would've been too late. Plus i wanted to get my hair and make up done but even if i didnt it would've been too late. DH at that time used to get home even earlier than he does now and was able to be home around 3pm and he gets ready quick so he didnt have to.
If you do it sometime soon at the beach it might not be that bad. But if you get closer to november then yeah it will be pretty cold, plus its always colder by the water. Personally i am always cold so im the worst with this lol. You want to be comfortable and relaxed for pics, if youre shaking from the cold might be a bit hard

Yea I think ours only does Mon-Thurs as well- AND we live upstate... umm we're gonna have to take at least 2 days off!
And I think we have to wait until Spring as well.
I guess call and ask and see what you can figure out? Maybe you can do them in the evening and only take off a few hours? I'm not sure what we are going to do... but I NEED to have them done lol

I am 100% taking off for my epics. I am having a difficult time matching up my schedule with that of my photogs & my makeup artist that I want to use.
Im not somoene who takes off a lot at all, so this was a no brainer for me.

I didn't take off and I took my epics in the city at like 6pm. It was great because there was still light and the weather was cooler by then.
But do whatever works best for you!

I made my epics on a day that I already have off. FH would have to leave early from work.

Yeah, our e-shoot had to be on the weekday because on weekends our photog does weddings. We took off from work to be there but we scheduled it at 6 (it was still light out in August when we did it) so we still worked a half day. It is an inconvenience but I am glad to know that when my wedding is on the weekend the photog will be complete free then instead of dealing with e-shoots.

My photographer only does them those days too. I work from home so it was easy for me to work it out but FH works in Midtown and he just left early and we did the pics at 5pm.

i took mine at 10am at central park and then went to work. so i only missed half the day. FH has 3 businesses so for him it didnt matter.

Thanks, ladies! It seems this is common practice, so looks like I'm preparing to call in sick one of these days! LOL!

Our's was on a weekday in the studio at 730pm. My job was closed that week, so I didn't have work (which is why I made it for that week). I had wanted to get my make-up and that wouldn't have been possible if Ihad to work. FH gets home early enough so that time worked out fine. Unfortunately, I would say take the day or at least a 1/2 day if that's possible,

We had to take off as well but it gives you a good chance to have a nice day together and get other stuff done. You can look at limos that day (which are usually not available on weekends) or go look at invitations or something like, have a nice lunch, and just relax. We did our hotel blocks and visited our hall to check out the new renovations and get an idea of their cake offerings too. I would also wait until spring though because you have some time and you might get the cherry blossoms in bloom which would be SO pretty.

We did ours on a weekend all over the city. I guess it depends on the photographer, but Luke was more than willing to work out a time that worked for both of us!

We just did ours on Thursday. We did it at a North Shore beach at 5:30pm during the sunset. It drizzled a little and was a bit chilly but the pictures are gorgeous with the sunset light.

Oooh! Sounds lovely! Gives me hope yet for the colder weather - not sure what we're gonna do yet. With the chill in the air, we may just wait till spring!
