Re: E-pic confusion...
well some people use them for STDs, some people use them to display at wedding or for table numbers.
I think it's a great way to get comfortable with your photographer, have them get comfortable with you, know what poses you like, don't like etc.
And some people just do them to do them!

Re: E-pic confusion...
We're doing them for our STD's and also because we don't have any nice pictures of us together. It's also included in our package so don't know if we'd be doing them if we had to pay extra for them.

Re: E-pic confusion...
We don't have many good pictures of the two of us so that was a big reason....mostly though, our dog (who is our baby) is 11 years old and we barely have any pictures of her so we thought this was a perfect opportunity to get some great memories on film. Dh thought thie e pics were stupid being that we weren't using them for anything specific but once we got them back he was floored and is so thrilled we did it. He already got all of out pups pics blown up and framed. It's also a great way to start getting to feel comfortable with your photographer before the big day.

We didn't understand the point of them either. We opted to save our money and use it towards a trash the dress shoot.
ETA: To everyone who says they are free, they're not really. They are included in the price of your photography package. Once you take them out, you pay less.

It's usually included in the photography package. I'm sure it also helps the photographer to get an idea of how you both photograph. It's also a nice way to get pictures of you wearing only an engagement ring instead of the band as well. It's also a cute way to do a photoshoot in regular street clothes.

Re: E-pic confusion...
They should be free with your photograhper!!!!!
I wouldn't have booked with anyone who didn't throw this in. We are taking ours in a few weeks and I'm not sure what we will use them for but it will be nice to have some professional shots before the wedding.

Re: E-pic confusion...
My cousin actually took them for us and did an amazing job and it cost us nothing but a thank you gift. We did it at an ice rink and are using them as table numbers for our engagement party. HTH
