I know this has been asked a thousand times, but where do you think is the best place for e-pics if we want a mixture of beach and gardens?
Also, do you think we should just go for the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens or not? They want a permit of $250 for commercial or wedding photography, but will not give us a definite answer on epics.
Thank you!

Sorry I cant think of anything that has both. I did mine on the Brooklyn waterfront and in Central Park.

Sands Point Preserve has a bit of both. I'm not sure about a permit fee, though.

Re: E-Pic Locations
I would not pay $250 for Epics, I would do Dumbo and maybe TimesSquare or Central Park. That fee is crazy!!

Re: E-Pic Locations
I found out that you do need to pay the $250 fee for BBG if it is a professional photographer.
So, any more ideas for gardens and beaches? Or interesting beaches? Thank you!

Definately check out Sandspoint Preserve. I'm pretty sure it's free!

It looks gorgeous on their website. Just waiting to hear back about any permits. They charge $100 for wedding photography for non-Nassau county residents. I'll try them tomorrow to find out about epics. Thanks!
UPDATE: They claim that the prices on their website are wrong and that the website has to come down. It is $200 for outside photography, and an extra $200 per hour for the inside. That's out.
Any more suggestions ladieis? Please help.

Re: E-Pic Locations UPDATE
I think the fee for engagement pics at Old Westbury Gardens was $150 for 1 1/2 hours. It had to be on a weekday before a certain time. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was before 3 pm. During the warmer months, you can only take pictures outside, unless it rains. On rainy days, they let you take pics inside the mansion.

Re: E-Pic Locations UPDATE
I saw pics the other day on here for a bride that had her epics at Morgan Park on the North Shore in Nassau - it has both - I think you'll like it. Its unclear to me if you need a permit - you do for wedding photography, but it doesn't specify for smaller groups. The woman I spoke with said she didn't get a permit for the photos, they just went and took them and no one stopped them. If you find out, will you let me know? I haven't had a chance to call yet . . .hth, gl!

I can't seem to find info on Morgan Park. But, I saw epics from another LIW bride of Sunken Meadow Park and it looks really nice. Maybe I can stop stressing out now.
