Okay - I'm usually the one BEHIND the camera....i take a TON of pics - as i'm trying to start my own photography business...
My problem is I have ZERO self esteem and i'm NO GOOD in FRONT of the camera. I have never really liked ANY pics of me taken EVER.. The ones in my album have been photoshopped a lot!!!!
What on earth can I do to relax and make sure i actually enjoy this whole process? We are having our pics done on Tuesday... I am going to take Xanax, yes - but i'm still so worried that my fear/hatred of pics will show in the photos!!!
Does anyone have any good ideas on how to relax and act more normal???
Just have fun with your FH, really just get lost in eachother and forget about the camera being there. The photographer will capture the emotions between you..and THAT will make beautiful pics!!

Jess don't stress. just think of it as a practice for the big day. At first everyone i think is tense. FH and I def were, and then as we went on we relaxed and just had fun with it.
I was very stressed the day before, feeling like you are. FH said something to me and it def helped me feel better. He said, you arent going to like all the pictures (he knows im sooo critical of myself haha), and you probably wont like most of them, but you will like a few - that def helped me destress - just because it took the pressure off of thinking that every picture had to come out perfect.
just be with fh on tuesday, have fun, be yourselves and the pictures will capture it.

i'm taking my pics tomorrow and i'm getting nervous myself! I don't always like the way I come out in pics, plus I'm feeling bloated and isn't it par for the course that I break out this week! My photographer does touch ups, so I'm hoping he does it on e-pics too! lol..
Just relax though! After a few pics i'm sure you'll get into it a bit more. good luck!

It's part of the whole reason i wanted the pics at night...at Adventureland!!! Because me in light - aren't friends....
We're doing a few pics at the beach before Adventureland - but i just want the cutesy walking away holding hands ones...and whatever else - i think of as a bonus.
I'm currently going through my closet - trying to find something i can hide in....but i think i'll be buying a new sweater to cover up in...

One main thing I've noticed from the pics in your album is that you have an AMAZING smile. And from reading your posts, you are very hard on yourself and there is no need to be. You're not ugly at all, not by a long shot! And the most important thing to remember is that you have an FH that LOVES you and even if you don't think it, I'm sure he thinks you're the most beautiful woman in the world. Let that come through in you pictures... your smile and your love for your FH and your pictures will be gorgeous... no matter what light you're in!
And relax like the other girls said... being in the spotlight is nerve wracking!!!

JMO....I don't this could have been said any better than anyone else! Just go with the love you and FH share and the pics will just come naturally.

I couldnt say it any better than it has already been said. You are beautiful, you have a man who loves you, and youre getting married. Lose yourself in your FH while youre taking the pics. Pretend the photog is not even there. You will be beautiful and the pics will look amazing.

But, don't worry you will be just fine. Just be natural and have fun. If you tense up- it will show in the pics.
Your photog will also be able to guide you on how to stand and position yourself.

just have fun with it......i am the same way - im always deleting pictures or re-taking them b/c i feel like im smiling weird, or that look ugly - but trust the photographer - its their job - and you are bound to like a few of the pics - maybe not ALL of them but i think thats totally normally - i didnt love all of our e-pics but there are quite a few that i love and am so glad to have! so just go with the flow - i noticed the best pictures (to me) are the ones where we weren't focused on the photographer and we were laughing or hugging or our backs were turned to the camera.....i am sure you will be fine!!! HAVE FUN!!!!

It's a great outfit...

Are you comfortale in it? Do you usually wear skirts? The only reason I ask is because I got dressed up for my epics and I HATED it, I could not relax, I felt stiff, and my pics all show it. I'm retaking them.
Dress however you feel comfortable.
ETA: I would switch to a solid top though...

Yes - i'm mostly comfortable. It's not really a skirt - they are skorts...so me knowing they are shorts helps :) I also have jeans - but for the few pics on the beach - i'm going to use the skort.
The top is kinda see-throughy but it has a tank top built into it..

i love that you have such a cute outfit that you are confortable in.
i think adventureland will allow you to forget about the pictures and jsut enjoy yourself.
