I have to get my ring appraised to add to my homeowner's policy. Does anyone have a trusted jewelry appraiser in Nassau County??
Also, is this done while you wait? Or do I have to drop off my ring?
TIA!!!!

Re: E-Ring Appraisal
I don't know anyone in Nassau, sorry. But my jeweler in Northport did it for me. I waited while he did the appraisal. It didn't take him that long.

We went to Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore. They were so professional and terrific. The appraisal was $95 I think. Gennaro Jewelers

Re: E-Ring Appraisal
My FH used someone in the city in the Diamond District that was recommended by our jeweler at Michael C. Fina. Whatever you do, do NOT ever let the ring leave your site!! If they say they can't do it in front of you, or you have to leave it with them go to someone else. A reputable place will want you to watch them do it to be comfortable. They can pop out a stone in 1 minute and reset it in about 15mins. Don't trust ANYONE!

DEFINATELY go to the Jewelery Appraiser in Manhasset. She is the best, really.
Overcertified and really, thorough and sweet as pie!

Re: E-Ring Appraisal
I added my ring to my renter's insurance policy. It actually cost more to insure my ring than everything else I own combined!
It covers anything that happens to the ring. If the stone falls out and you lose it, if it gets stolen, if it gets destroyed somehow.
I don't know how the separate ring insurance policies work (the ones you can buy from a jeweler or online).

Re: E-Ring Appraisal
I highly recommend Great American Jewelry in Massapequa Park. My family's jewelry & my FH's family's jewelry have gone to this jeweler for at least 50 years. This is a family business that's been handed down generation to generation & recently relocated to where they are now; the son that now has the business for the last like 30 yrs is Larry. They are fabulous, trustworthy, friendly people & take extra care in all of their work & jewelry they sell. He will appraise the jewelry while you're there, it won't take long. FH originally bought my ring somewhere else while they were moving stores & weren't open yet; the jeweler he bought my ring from had a really crappy prong setting for my side stones. After losing a side stone within 2 weeks having my ring because of them being poorly set, this jeweler reopened the new location, we went there, and he added prongs & my ring has been fabulous since. He really knows his stuff.

They are a few blocks east of Massapequa High School, & across the street from Johns Burns Park

I went to Jewelry Judge in Garden City. You go into a room and they do it right in front of you so you never have to leave your ring alone lol. When I went back in March, the head guy didn't have an appointment for like 2 weeks. So we made an appointment with a lady. She was very nice. You get all your docs right then and there.
