Has anyone ever gotten their engagement ring appraised by Barry Block, the Jewelry Judge in Garden City? I just made an appointment with him for this Saturday and am nervous/excited.
My e-ring came with an appraisal and a GIA report, but I wanted to have a local appraiser I can go to every couple of years to update the insurance.
After that, I'd like to find a reputable jeweler in Nassau that I can go to every 6 months or so to clean the ring and have them inspect it for any damage. Can anyone recommend a good jeweler?

I got my ring appraised by Barry Block. It was a pretty cool experience! He is genuinly excited about stones and will tell you a great deal of detail about the characteristics of your ring. My ring also came with a GIA report. He appraises your ring first, and then looks at the GIA report after. I definately recommend him.

Bennett at Kravit Jewelers in Oceanside. My e-ring and our wedding bands were from him. We stop in whenever we want to get the rings cleaned and for them to check the prongs.

My fiance's friend owns a jewelry store in Oceanside- SVS Fine Jewelry. We got all of our rings from him and he's SO helpful. Everything he has there is gorgeous, and he makes custom pieces too. We designed my wedding band together.
